Sustainable Hosting

Sustainable Hosting is an independently owned provider that gives back more power than it uses. It's been carbon-neutral since 2006 and carbon-negative since 2021. This isn't done with offsets. The servers run on renewable energy, and the office exports more solar power to the grid than it consumes.

The service is a good fit for organizations and individuals who value sustainability and privacy. It's designed for NGOs, non-profits, green businesses, and small companies that need a reliable online presence without a complicated dashboard. Discounts are available for non-profits doing work that deserves support.

Hhosting plans are straightforward. Prices are stable. There are three main tiers, and each includes a set amount of monthly admin time. This is dedicated time with the technical team for help with projects, troubleshooting, or general advice. Unused minutes roll over for a few months. All plans include email, SSL certificates, and support from the people who run the company.

What makes it different is its verifiable approach to sustainability and its human scale. You talk to the owners, not a call center. The company also prioritizes social responsibility, fair pay, and privacy. Your data stays in the EU, and the company website uses no tracking cookies or ad networks.

Beyond standard web hosting, they offer other services for small organizations:

• Carbon-neutral web design focused on performance and efficiency.
• Back-office utilities like document management and groupware.
• Backup and threat protection services.
• Container hosting with staging environments.

They will handle migrating your website and email history from another provider after a personal consultation.
