LessPass

Computes unique passwords from a site, login, and master password. It works offline without needing to sync an encrypted vault.

LessPass is a stateless password manager. It doesn't store your passwords in an encrypted vault that you have to synchronize across devices. Instead, it generates the same unique password for each service every time you need it. This means you can access your passwords anywhere.

The system works by combining three pieces of information: the website you're on, your login for that site, and your single master password. It uses these inputs to compute a complex, unique password just for that service. The calculation happens offline on your device, so nothing is sent over the internet.

You only need to remember one master password. That's it. Since there's no vault, there's nothing to sync, lose, or get stolen from a central server. You can get your password from any device that can run the LessPass algorithm, even if you've never used that device before.

As a security tool, transparency is important. LessPass is fully open source, so anyone can inspect its code to verify how it works and confirm its security. It's free to use and is available as a browser extension and for mobile devices.
